Pump performance application is developed to estimate the performance of any centrifugal pump operating at any viscous liquid other than it was originally designed for. It is very important operating phenomena and often centrifugal pump is required to operate at site conditions with varying fluid density and viscosity. Engineers then find challenging to decide whether the existing pump which was originally designed for completely different liquid would actually perform as per expectation and what discharge head would it develop when operate at varying conditions.
The application offers users to select the pump design profile provided by vendor based on water as design fluid or any other viscous fluid then re-design the pump performance curves for the operating fluid. The applications develop complete pump performance profile and graphs including pump head, discharge pressure, break horse power, water horse power, temperature rise in the pump impeller and system curve at which pump need to operate.
Pump performance curve for original vendor performance data, performance curve of original pump at new fluid, performance curve of modified pump design at new fluid and system curve are plotted. User are provided with multiple options to select the graph desired to plot and analyse. Results also displayed in tabulated form on separate tab.
Users are prompted about the limitations of the programs in the message bar on the screen.
