Piping design is a critical phase during the project development. Correct piping design is crucial to the safety of new plant or during debottlenecking of the existing piping in the facility. Out of many crucial mechanical parameters, a process parameter of dynamic pressure is of equal importance. This application is developed for the accurate calculations of dynamic pressure of piping for new facility and for plant debottlenecking projects. User will provide process information in input section and evaluate the results with a simple click of a button. Standard governing procedures from international standards like API and ASME have been employed in the application for the correct estimation of dynamic pressure.
The result section is divided in two sections “Allowable Maximum Limit” where maximum permissible flow, velocity and allowable maximum dynamic pressure are calculated. In the second part of result section the “Actual Condition” is determined and compares the results for the decision making by designer. A “Warning” section then compare the results and warn the user about any of the critical parameter is beyond the allowable limits of the piping design.
Users are prompted about the limitations of the programs in the message bar on the screen. User can print and save the results into a PDF file and access the application manual from Help menu.
